I am just back on land in Sal after a 10 days sailing trip around the islands of Cabo Verde. It has been 6 years since my last trip to Cabo Verde and so much have changed here. Huge hotels have popped up everywhere, lots of tourist, but the waves are still the same, beautiful. Since I have ridden the famous wave of Punta Preta before and I find it way too off shore and crowded for kitesurfing, we decided that we wanted to go and check out some of the other islands and see what we could find. I got in touch with Yoann, a French guy who has spent the last 5 years on the island and who owns a nice catamaran. He is also a windsurfer, kiter and surfer, so he was the perfect guy to hook up with for some inside information about the place and where we should go to find some good waves. So together with him, Tuva and the local ripper Mittu we sailed down south to Boa Vista. 30 knot of wind all day, everyday and a big swell made the trip pretty hard with the ruff sea, but it was a fun experience. We found many good waves for surfing, but most of them where too off shore for kiting. But in the end we did find some cool spots and with the new gear it makes it possible to kite off shore spots that you before could not. The whole story will be out in the next Stance with a little video from the trip and some cool shots from the photographer Maxime wewe

Every year I spend around 4 months in Indonesia because of the perfect waves and the cheap living. I love it there. I finished my house last year, just in front of maybe the best kite spot in the world and an amazing wave for surfing. But this year was very different to all the other years I have been there. The wind season never really came. We did have good waves most of the time, but not any huge swell as we normally get. But we for sure still got some good kite session in, just not as many as I wished for. Me and Tuva did our first year of kite clinics as well for the months of Sep and Oct. Even with not too much wind, I think most of our clients were pretty stoked. They all still improved their riding a lot. I think, just riding perfect waves with side shore wind makes everything a lot easier and with a few tips or two on how they can ride better helped a lot. Watching yourself riding on tape is the best way of learning I think. When it was days with no wind they had their best time surfing and SUP one of the many waves. We for sure gone do it again next year, so go to my website www.indokitecamp.com for more information. I have already got bookings for next year, so hurry up.
Oxbow sent John Bilderback over to Indo this year to start to shoot for their kite movie witch will be insane when it is done. He got some sick footage to work on. Now we are trying to figure out where to go and shoot next . Hard choices..
The photographer Benjamin Thourard came to visit us for his first time this year as well, and Ben managed to get some amazing shots the short time he was here. I was very impressed by his skills in the water.
So now I am soon on my way back to France for a few days, not sure how long I can stand the cold..I might escape fast to Morocco to see my friend Futha and to ride some good waves at the spot named Moulay. Will keep you updated on that.
Check out the little video I made from this year on Indonesia.

I just want to say that I am very pleased to confirm that I will now be riding for Wainman Hawaii ! It feels good and right for me to be apart of this amazing adventure. From the beginning, Lou has always been the guy I looked up too because from my point of view he is the reason kiting is what it is today. He was always the one trying to push the sport further and in the right direction with new tricks and his unique style on the water. So for me it is an honor to ride for his brand.
With some sick kites and surfboards from Wainman Hawaii I am now looking forward for a year with some exiting traveling in search for some epic wave riding!
Right now I am in Hawaii with the whole Wainman crew, the wind is finely back here and we are riding and testing the gear everyday. It all looks good! It is amazing how good the gear work and I am sure it will help to improve my riding.
I will soon be back with an update.

Does this look like fun? Come and join us the summer 2010 aug/oct in our private house in Indonesia, right on the spot. Please go to the page for more info or contact us by e-mail for any question!
Hope to see!

The surf and kite camp me and Tuva had organized in Hossegor, France was just finished a few days ago. 1 week with a bunch of norwegians. We got really lucky with the weather and waves, so everybody seemed happy.
I am now on my way up to the north of France in my car. Just a little drive….But I am looking forward to visit my home town for a few days, it has been a while since last time I was there. My friend Joris, who owns the biggest kiteshop in Brest , Sideshore, is having a little kite demo on the beach, so I will go and hang out with him for the weekend and monday. IT will be cool, so if you are around, you should come and see us.

Hi! I finely made it to Reunion island! With a really good forecast, I thought it was time to check out this place, witch is famous for the good surf..
After 11 hours of plane we arrived in la Reunion.
My friends, the photographer Stephane Fournet and his wife Leena live here, so we are staying with them. They have a perfect set up here, a nice house with a beautiful view over the ocean. We have been kiting here everyday since we have been here at the spot named Etant Sale. It was been good, but the wind has been a little too off-shore and a little too strong. But the waves are really good, 5 to 6 foot swell the whole time..
We have tried to wake up early here to go surfing too, but it does not matter how early you go, there are anyway wayyyyy toooo many people in the water, and the level of the surfers here is fucking good. So I am stocked if I manage to catch a few every session…
I am only here for a week, before I am heading back to France for a surf/kite camp I am organizing with Tuva in Hossegor.
